We wanted to share with you that Australia’s aged care laws are set to change, resulting in a new Aged Care Act.
In time it will change how aged care services are delivered to older Australians including Vision Australia clients.
Vision Australia welcome these changes as the new laws will include a Statement of Rights, prioritising the rights and needs of older people.
The new laws will make it far easier to know what you should expect when accessing Government-funded aged care services.
The government is seeking feedback on the draft new Aged Care Act, so now is a good time to share your feedback on the type of aged care you want with comments being accepted until 16 February 2024.
