Clients battle over bowls
05 November 2009
A group of six young Newcastle Vision Australia clients took to the bowling alley for a day of jovial rivalry on 13 October.

Brodie was up to the bowling challenge!
The day started at the Vision Australia office where the savvy clients researched bus information on the computer using their Jaws and Zoomtext skills.
The group then travelled by bus to Superstrike at Mayfield where they commenced their marathon two hour battle to take out the title of Vision Australia bowling champion.
To keep track of scores, clients used their computer skills to enter scores into the laptop, making it an educational experience as well as fun! After the game, children enjoyed a delicious lunch while sharing their personal bests for the day.
The young clients were accompanied by three brave staff members, Michael Burak, Adaptive Technology Trainer, Michelle Andrews, Children's Services Psychologist and Katherine Swalwell, Orientation & Mobility Instructor.
The competition was fierce with Michael needing treatment for a bruised ego for the thrashing he received from the kids. But in the midst of all the excitement there were some wonderful performances and personal victories.
A fun day was had by all and a presentation was made back at the office to the champion bowler of the day, Ryan.
Well done everyone!
