Assistive technology refers to all equipment and technology, both hardware and software, that assist people who are blind, deafblind or have low vision to access or participate in a particular activity or range of activities.
It includes but is not limited to products such as a: signature guide, large button phone, magnifier, DAISY player, refreshable braille display, and screen magnification software.

A range of funding options are available to people who are blind or have low vision to access equipment and technology they may not be able to afford. These often depend on your financial status and where you live.
Vision Australia Texpo and Open Day
Each year, Vision Australia holds Texpo, an event to showcase the latest technology and services for people who are blind or have low vision.
The event features displays from a diverse range of technology suppliers, service providers and the host of Vision Australia services with specialist staff on hand to answer your questions.
