The presenters will travel to various venues and present to groups who may be interested to hear what services and equipment Vision Australia have to offer. These may include planned activity groups, community groups, or others. The volunteers will ensure their information is updated regularly and they have sufficient knowledge of equipment and services that are available. For new referrals, client and referrer information may be collected in hard copy and will be discussed with the Service Engagement Officer who will make direct contact with the client or referrer to discuss needs of the client. It is not the presenter’s role to make appointments. The volunteers may be required to drive.
Skills and Attributes:
Comfortable with public speaking, presenting and networking. Interpersonal and leadership skills. Facilitation and event coordination skills. Able to work unsupervised and in a team. Be a positive advocate of Vision Australia services.
Volunteer Essentials Induction training. KEAZ driver training.
Time commitment varies as requests for speakers come in. Presentation locations will vary across Gippsland.
